National Night Out, Are You Signed Up?

Everyone it's time for National Night Out Sanford 2012! Save some room in your busy schedule August 7th to fight crime in a neighborhood near you. National Night Out is designed to

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti crime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

  • Outdoor lights and front porch vigils aren't the only ways to celebrate in Sanford. We at the City are hosting several :
    • block parties,
    • cookouts,
    • visits from local police and sheriff departments,
    • parades, exhibits,
    • flashlight walks,
    • contests, and
    • youth programs.
    NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits your community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night. For more information on the event visit http://www.nationaltownwatch.org/nno/about.html or www.sanfordnc.net

    I can't see!!!!!

    The city removes site distance obstructions, which are objects that substantially block the sufficient vision of drivers such as limbs. To avoid sign pollution, the city only erects traffic signs that are necessary to provide a safe travel environment for pedestrians, bicyclist, and motorist. For more information or to report a site distance problem, call the Public Works Service Center (919) 775-8247.
